Horror Film Resurrection Day to Premier Valkyrie International Film Festival Buffalo NY | Composer Sabrina Pena Young
You are INVITED. My short film Resurrection Day will be PREMIERING Sunday MARCH 26 at 4:00 at the First Annual Valkyrie International Film Festival!
The venue is The Screening Room Cinema & Arts Cafe, an intimate boutique digital cinema with a large screen. The venue location is 880 Alberta Drive, Buffalo, NY 14226.
Valkyrie International Film Festival (VIFF) spotlights films directed by women of all backgrounds and advances the cause of women in film. Held yearly in March (Women’s History Month), VIFF was founded by Tamar Lamberson and her daughter, Kaelin Lamberson. VIFF seeks impactful films in all genres. If a woman directed it, we want to see it! VIFF will screen narrative, documentary, and experimental shorts and features. The only requirement is that every film selected for screening must have been directed by a woman.
Intermedia composer, percussionist, author, and obsessive sci-fi buff, Young composes mind-numbing electroacoustic works heard in Asia, North America, Australia, and Europe. Her music has been heard in film festivals, radio, electronic dance clubs, random boom boxes in France, and as not-so-pleasant background music. Her multimedia works have been performed at venues like the Beijing Conservatory, the International Computer Music Conference, Miramax's Project Greenlight, the Athena Festival, the New York International Independent Film Festival, Art Basil Miami, Turkey's Cinema for Peace, and Pulsefield International Exhibition of Sound Art.
Creation Mov. 2 "Light"
Origins, a riveting album of cinematic soundscapes, pulsating rhythms and enigmatic vocals, was released on CD Baby and i-Tunes in 2008. Origins includes World Order #1, a pounding dance piece about nuclear war and Looking Glass, a nightmarish musical poem. Recent projects include World Order #5, an apocalyptic tale about the decimation of the human race by a viral mutation written for the Kansas State University percussion ensemble, 3D animation, and electronic music, and the Creation, a CGI multimedia oratorio composed for the Millikin University Women's Chorus and percussion ensemble. The world premier of Creation will took place April 17th, 2010, in Decator, Illinois.
